35 week bump update

Pregnancy is a funny thing.

One minute I am miserable from not getting any sleep and having to pee every five minutes and the next minute I can't believe I get to carry this little life inside of me and get sad thinking I only have about 5 or more weeks of being pregnant.
I am sure once I hit the 40 week mark I will be more than ready to have this baby on the outside. The weeks seem to be flying by now but I know these last couple of weeks can seem like forever.

I am at the stage right now where I just can't think to hard about anything. I just want to do what I need to do to get to the end of this pregnancy and take care of my family. I honestly have had a hard time getting myself to keep up with these updates and blogging. I have a million posts I want to write but just can't get myself to write them. I would much rather sit on the couch and watch Poldark or Fixer Upper. Be sure that when I get out of my writing funk there will be post after post in your inbox, but now all I want to do is veg out after a long day of homeschooling and being pregnant.
I have been getting braxton hicks for the past few weeks now. I have never gotten them this early so it makes me wonder if I am going to have this baby early. I have been overdue with all my other pregnancies but we will see. I usually would be very happy to have the baby come early or on time but this time around I wouldn't mind if she came late, the reason being we are putting on an addition to our house. I am so excited it's actually happening but anxious about bringing my baby home to a construction zone. I know the baby will be fine but I might be a little stressed. Nesting mode is going to hit me in full force pretty soon but I might just need to stave it off till after I have the baby and everything with the house is done.

I don't think the reality that I am going to be having a baby soon has hit me, as crazy as that sounds. It usually doesn't till the end of my pregnancy. When I do finally have this baby in my arms I will probably be in shock.

I remember with my last pregnancy how worried I was about having another person to take care of and how I was going to handle five kids, but this time I am not really worried about it. I am actually excited! I know it will all work out and the older kids have really been helping out a lot more now.

I thought that I might not have insomnia the end of this pregnancy since I had it in the first trimester but I was wrong. It has been an unwelcome visitor between 4-6 every night. I think insomnia is God's way of preparing us for having a baby keeping us up at night. At least that is what I am telling myself.

I also have been having really painful leg cramps at night. I usually can pull my foot back towards myself and it will stop but these have been real doozies. I have been taking my prenatal vitamins and also calcium but it still doesn't seem to work.

I tried painting my toenails last week and failed miserably. I think I am just going to treat myself to a pedicure. I have been getting the kids to pick up things off the floor for me since I can't bend down anymore.

So that's it for me right now. How about you?

  1. You could try taking magnesium for the cramps. There are pills or sprays or Epsom salt baths. Has helped me and others I know also! Blessings!

  2. You look beautiful, Rebekah! Being sure to hydrate well during pregnancy helped me... but that of course greatly increases the running to the bathroom :s Like the ladies above mentioned, magnesium sounds like something good to try!
